5 Facts – Why Bloggers Are Like Gardeners

Bloggers and gardeners don’t differ much at all. In fact they have more common than you think. Don’t believe me – let me show you!

Fact 1: Just like gardeners sow their seeds bloggers do too.

  • A bloggers seeds are the content he writes about. If the seeds are planted right, they will grow and so will the blog

Fact 2: A gardener has to choose the right site/position for his garden. Where to plant and plough, is it better facing north, east, west or south?

  • A blogger has the same decisions to make when he is first starting out. Is it better to go with a self hosted blog, if yes which hosting company would be best suited? Or else would it be better to use a free blog first?

Fact 3: Every year the gardener has to pull out some weeds in order to stop the weeds from taking over. Sometimes he applies weed killer and at other times he does all the hard work by hand.

  • Bloggers also need to weed out their blogs from time to time. Whether this means its time for a new theme, logo, design or simply a change of tactics.

Fact 4: Gardeners spend a lot of time outdoors in order to make their garden look great. They do it because they love to.

  • Bloggers also spend much time updating their blogs. Sometimes they should remember that there is a life outside of the Internet.

Fact 5: The ultimate pay off for all the hard work put in by the gardener is the harvest or seeing the blooming of his plants.

  • For the blogger it is the same, once he sees that all his hard work is starting to pay off either by earning money, gaining friends, links, ranks and whatever else he strives for he knows that it was all worth it.

As long as you realize that the act of blogging means consistent tending to your blog, you should have no problems getting a harvest eventually.

Happy gardening…err…blogging
