In Search of Text/Link Sidebar Widget

I just want to say hello. I just joined and this is my first post. I am new to Wordpress, so I am still in the learning and getting acquainted phase of this wonderful software.

Sometimes finding the simplest things are the most difficult to find. And this is true for me trying to find a particular plugin. The default plugins don't seem to be what I am looking for.

I am using the CONNECTIONS RELOADED theme on my website, which utilizes very nice sidebar boxes. I need to find a widget, which allows me to duplicate, and which allows me to display separate lines of words, and which I can link to another page on the website (like bio pages for blogger contributors), and for documents sitting on the server.

For Example:

Sidebar Bio Box
John Doe
Jane Doe
Baby Doe


Sidebar Document Box
Document #1
Document #2
Document #3


I am finding many Text widgets, but none where I can link the contents.

Any suggestions? I know this widget is sitting right under my nose.

i used to have the same thoughts as you last time..

well, i would suggest you get the "linkblock" widget which enables you to choose which group of link you want to add on ur sidebar.

the only other thing u need to do is assign your link to a separate category. for instance all your document you can assign under the category document. and later just add the widget to ur sidebar and choose document from the drop down menu...

same goes for you other link that you want assign.

I have been finding and testing quite a few plug-ins, but the ones I have chosen to use on my website are the King Widgets.

They consist of an entire package of widgets, and Wow , do they do a lot.

So far, they are working beyond my expectations.

and Yes i do find the King widget to be more than a widget itself. thks for pointing to this..
