| Just dropping a line by way of intro. I'm not really a web marketer in the sense that a lot of you folks are. I'm a principal in an IT company, Source 1 Media (s1m.com). We provide a range of services from custom software developmet to managed hosting. I've gotten interested in some of the more direct marketing stuff I see on the web and have developed a couple of things on my own, but under the aegis of S1M. Club-Tech.com is a review site for work at home opportunities, and CBDealer.com is web-based app that generates a ClickBank storefront. While I can develop some kick-butt software, especially for web apps, I'm a complete dolt when it comes to marketing, so that's why I'm here- for advice and even some direct help if it's available. |

| Hi Steven- Thanks for the reply. In regard to your question, CBDealer is quite a bit different than CBMall. In the first place, it's free. It operates on a revenue sharing model, which means a member will never have to dig into their pocket for any kind of fees. It's 100% hosted and managed by us, so all a member needs to do is sign up, (optionally) customize their storefront, and market it. The CBDealer link design generates affiliate links on the backend, so members can post links to parts of their store even in places where affiliate links aren't allowed. This also has the effect of reducing affiliate link stripping and hijacking. We're enhancing the stats module now to provide more granular info. If we get sufficient response, we'll work on other improvements. On the tentative to-do list is: Allowing members to select which products to promote, based on a number of criteria such as most popular, most recent, best-sellers, specific categories, etc. Further cloaking of the links to eliminate query strings completely An adsense module Tiered click-splitting, where the more clicks a member generates, the smaller percentage we skim. An affiliate system We're certainly open to suggestion for further enhancements MikeA |
