Wink Please review my WP blog

I would very much appreciate some input into my blog please. I'm told I may have a scripting problem or two (whatever that means). Could that also be why SEO spiders can't always access my blog? I'm a technical dunderhead I'm afraid and will need to find someone to put things right for me, but first, an appraisal from more knowledgeable bloggers will help determine the extent of the work required. I'll be grateful for any comment - good or bad. Bomoman

I check on the google, seems like your site is indexed by google. However, if you want to get easier indexed, try my suggestion below:

1) Install the Google Sitemap Plugin
2) Extend the header, look strange
3) Try not to post number in front of the post.

Default Thanks for comment

Steven. my sincere thanks for your comments.
The google sitemap I have onboard already and the header will be extended. I hadn't noticed that it had seemingly adjusted itself. As for the numbering in the post titles I have removed them all as I have also with the categories. They were unecessary anyhow and I take your point.
Kind regards
Bomoman

Your Prostate Rumination blog is beautiful. Clean and simple. I love the header.

I do find the links to your posts a bit hard to read because of the color. Pink/magenta doesn't make much contrast with the white background.

Did you try making the links purple? That would be so much easier to read, and it would work well with the purple background at the sides of the page.

I've been designing books, web sites, and other publications for a many years, and I'm currently on a rant about pale-colored type in blogs. Yours is not bad, but a darker link color (or slightly bolder type) would serve you better, IMO.

Incidentally where are you located? In the U.S. that would be a highly unusual color combination for attracting a male audience.

In other countries (particularly in Asia, I've noticed), men don't seem so inhibited about using color. I think that's great!

However, if your audience is intended to include U.S. men, the colors could be an issue. That is, many U.S. men might hesitate to forward the link to their friends for fear of being teased about it.

I hope this is useful. It *is* a beautiful blog.

Default Thanks Kathleen

Hi Kathleen,
How very nice of you to reply and with such constructive comments too.
I will be sure to address the points you have made when I do a revamp of my blog. I am not technically capable myself but I am ably assisted by a friendly graphic artist who picked up on my original effort and offered to improve it... gratis. A friend indeed and living just a few kms from me here in Queensland, Australia, though we have yet to meet. I am planning for a long awaited 'thank you' lunch shortly.

You may also have noticed that I have not been active on my blog recently. Just a long holiday and few hiccups health wise but I hope to be back with it soon.

As for my target market I guess it is global. Prostate cancer has no geographical boundaries and all I am trying to do is show men that they do have alternatives to conventional medicine... which to my mind... often causes more suffering than the disease itself.

Once again Kathleen, thank you for you advice. It was much appreciated.

Regards David

Hi David, I'm an Aussie too. I would have to agree with Kathleen about the colour - especially for the topic and target audience. Now, if the blog was intended for women or related to spiritual healing or something like that it would be ideal but I think you need something that is more 'manly' in colouring.

I love the header graphic though - looks great and the text in the graphic is good too - just the topic with that colour choice is not quite what I would have thought on first glance.
