One month, very little traffic

So I've been at this for one month, but haven't managed to get all that much traffic. But it is increasing slowly. My next experiment is to add a podcast.

I just started submitting original articles to some article sites. Hopefully that will create more backlinks.

Why don't you follow me? Post more often like me in the forum. On every post, will have my signature file to link back to my site. One of the way to create traffic to my site.

Help people solve their problem and you will get noticed. Then you will attract more traffic.

I've studied some NLP and a bit of hypnosis, and I'm a copywriter, so I'm very interested in the topic of your blog, but I find it hard to read.

The pale gold links are almost illegible on my computer. I can decipher them, but it hurts my eyes.

Overall, at a glance the *look* of the blog creates an impression of dense wordiness.

First, you need some contrast. If you change the link (and tag) color from pale to dark, you will immediately improve readability.

You will also improve navigation, because people can see what is there (by easily reading the categories and post titles in the links).

Getting traffic initially is not enough. Even a few enthusiastic readers can spread the word, bringing in links and traffic.

However, if the blog is hard to read, most people---even those who are very interested in the topic---will click away again almost immediately.

I would also check on your text color. Is it black? On one of my blogs the text appeared to be black, yet it was hard to read. When I checked the CSS, it turned out to be actually a dark gray. Changing it to black made a vast improvement in readability.

There is a lamentable fad right now for pale type. Oh, yes, it looks nice if you just glance at the blog. But the point of a blog is to be *read*. As blog designers, we have to keep that in mind always.

I wouldn't expect too much after only one month, blogs take a lot of hard work and dedication, so don't expect anything like "instant results" or get-rich-quick ideas.
