How to Make a Separate New Comprehensive Links Page?

Hi everyone!
I was wondering if any of you who are seasoned at this can help me out!

I would like to know how to make a separate link page, separate from the blogroll list. I started with blogroll, but my main issue is that if I have a lot of links, and the blogroll lists them all on my main page next to my posts. I am afraid that the list will be really long, and I do not necessarily want to see ALL of my links on the main page. I would like to create a nice big page for all my links, arranged by category and subject like "News, Places, etc" .

So what I did was just make a separate page, and basically wrote a long post of links, with categories in bold letters, and just typing in the links line by line. However, it reads like a long long list with a lot of spaces in between each link. I like how the blogroll is formatted visually, and wish I can keep to that on my link page if possible.


Second question is if I were to just use the blogroll, is there a point when the links list will be cut off on the main page, and maybe just continue and open up in the comprehensive separate link page that i will create because there are too many links on it? I was hoping so.

I really appreciate it, if any of you could advise me on this.
