I have uncheck the box for discussions and the comment box still shows up on the Pages. There must be a way to remove the comment box. Can someone help or point the way to remove the annoying comment box from the pages in WordPress? Debbie |

Hi Debbie, Did you use widgets to control the siderbar appearance? If you do, you can actually take off the recent comment function. If you are not using widget, try to use that, it is very useful. Thank you.

| There is a way to remove the comment box and also to remove the comments closed text on the pages to create a truly static page. There is to much to write on this page but I can direct you to a friend of mine that has a blog with an article on it about this subject. http://www.lancelhoff.com/2007/02/21...s-in-one-step/ Hope this helps, I have yet to try it on any of my sites but I know this guy really well and have worked with him on many projects. Good Luck ![]() |

Well, Yes you can. But exactly how you do it depends on the theme you are using. Here is how I do it: Go into the style.css for your theme and look for 'comment' or 'box' etc... you should find something with a background color of "fff" or "ffffff" add display:none; to that css entry and see if it's gone. keep trying untill you find the right one.... I use wordpress as a CMS all the time. They should make it easier to do this.... |

You can easily create static pages in WordPress blogs like this one of mine http://themoneyworldonline.com/make-more-money/ by logging on to your WordPress dashboard then click 'options' and then 'reading'. The top option is 'Front Page' so select the radio button that says 'a static page - select below' then select the page from the drop down list. This assumes you have already prepared your page - if not just edit the existing 'About' page, rename to whatever you want and your front page will display every time with no annoying comment box on it.
