Default Sidebar Parse Error

Hi -

I'm brand new here and am trying to get a site up and running. When I try to install a new theme on my blog I receive an error on the Hobby theme and on the Business themes, something about a parse error in the sidebar. I am not a programmer and have no idea what this is.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what do I do?

The other three themes seem to be okay except the Adsense Ready theme appears very plain and a real narrow header. I presume this is intentional.

Thanks much for your help!

Gerry

Hi Gerry,

A little experiment is needed from you to confirm the error here.
1) Can you upload the theme again to overwrite the old file. I suspect the theme you uploaded is incomplete.
2) Can you change to another theme in that blog and see?

Do come back to us if you have any issue on this.

Thanks

Sorry for the delay in getting back - I took a day off. I deleted all 5 original themes, downloaded them again, unzipped them and uploaded them with ZipGenius.

Adsense Ready and Business appear ok.

Plain Vanilla shows:
"WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1]
SELECT cat_id, cat_name FROM"
in the sidebar below Categories.

Hobby theme shows:
"WordPress database error: [Incorrect table name '']
SELECT DISTINCT link_category, cat_name, show_images,show_description, show_rating, show_updated, sort_order,sort_desc, list_limit FROM `wp_links` LEFT JOIN `` ON (link_category = cat_id) WHERE link_visible = 'Y' AND list_limit <> 0 ORDER BY cat_id"
in sidebar below the word "About". The sidebar displays to the left above my posts. No graphics at all.

Vacation theme shows:
"WordPress database error: [Incorrect table name '']
SELECT DISTINCT link_category, cat_name, show_images,show_description, show_rating, show_updated, sort_order,sort_desc, list_limit FROM `wp_links` LEFT JOIN `` ON (link_category = cat_id) WHERE link_visible = 'Y' AND list_limit <> 0 ORDER BY cat_id"
in sidebar below word "About". Also no graphics show.

The blog I uploaded these to is an existing blog that displays other themes okay. I tried the SuperAdsense theme and it also appears okay. At this time, I plan to modify the header of the SA theme and complete the editing per the instructions. This is the them I will probably end up using so the problems with the others do not bother me too much but I would like to know if there is an easy fix in case I decide to try them in the future. I am using WP 2.2.

Thanks much for your support. Sorry this post went on so long.

Gerry

Okay Gerry,

Would you mind to do me a favor? Open a ticket with Support center, copy the error you put up here into the ticket and submit to us. I will forward to the respective department to look into it.

Thanks
