Default I need your help!

I'm a definite newbie, and would deeply appreciate any advice you can give me. I have a brand new domain (not a Wordpress blog) to which I'm attempting to upload my index to, have chosen a theme I love, which happens to be a Wordpress theme, have downloaded Wordpress to my public html, as well as the theme files (yes, they're all extracted), and still am showing the same thing on my site: Index of/; Parent Directory; cgi-bin (folder); wordpress 2.2.2/ (folder), with no graphics and zero content. I have tried following the Wordpress instructions for installing the theme, but it keeps referring me to the Wordpress dashboard, and this isn't a Wordpress site I'm working with. If anyone out there can help me, please give me step by step instructions as though I were a 5th grader, because I apparently am missing some brain cells on this one (I did just have a baby though, so I'll use that as an excuse). Seriously though, I'm so freakin' frustrated. I just want to get the thing up and running, add Adsense, my articles, and get some good traffic going, and am delayed every week trying to remedy this situation. I'll bet it's something simple, right? This is my first 'time/site', so be gentle, and thanks in advance for your help!

for reference, my site url: truthandcrackers

It seems that you haven't install the blog to your site yet. U need to INSTALL but NOT just uplaod the file to your server.

Please install the blog 1st and only can install the blog theme.

Thank you

I know, stupid question.. but how do I 'install' my blog? All I was told was needed was to upload the theme and index to the public html folder. Thanks.

Please refer to this forum post and this forum post.

In fact, I have put up a FAQ list for newbies to read, to avoid asking any 'stupid' questions. You may want to read all the post and find out the solution.
