adsense question

I don't have an adsense account yet and tried to apply for one before my blog was fully setup but I didn't get approved.

So I got a couple of posts done and got the template fully customized and applied again this morning. Well I figured it would probably be best to take down the existing adwords built into the template so I deleted the number that was already there in the adsense ID file and they are still showing up.

How do I temporarily disable them?

How do I temporarily disable the adsense from showing up on the theme? I don't think I'll get approved for an account if there is already adsense on my site. I deelted the number in the adsense id file and they are still there.
