I have also read the instructions on the youtube plugin (provided above) but I do not know how to use it after I installed it.

So I surfed around to hunt for some other ways people do it and I got this.

The code is:

where PspAeMdnQ-g is the specific youtube video you want.

Delete the " " single space after the "<" and before the "embed"


Note: The WYSIWYG text editor needs to be off.
To do this, go to Options / Writing and uncheck these 2 boxes:
- Users should use the visual rich editor by default and
- WordPress should correct invalidly nested XHTML automatically.

Problem is that when you switch on the WYSIWYG editor even after you published your post, you lose the embedded video feature - i.e. when a reader goes to your blog and click on the snapshot of the video, the reader will be directed to the youtube site rather than play the video in your blog.

I have not yet figured out how to overcome this. If anyone knows, please share.

So far I have left the WYSIWYG editor in the off mode, and the embeded video looks good.

If I am not mistaken, that plugin generate random video and display the videos on your blog based on the keywords that you input. It will now give you the specific video to display.

Unless you just want to do videoblogging, that's plugin is relevant to you. But for YiChen case, she want the exact video clip to be shown. So, it is not suitable.

Yup, this plugin gives out random video based on your tags.

For me, I followed Ming Chern's instructions that he posted on IMS. He got it from this website Embedding YouTube Videos as Valid XHTML 1.0, Bernie Zimmermann . From there, I go find someone else's blog that has a video and copy the html code (via view source). I just need to insert the video code that I want from youtube and paste it on my blog.

I searched around looking for a plugin but some simple code will help.
If you go to my site www.alcohol-drug-rehab.info/rehab it will show the post that the following video came from. Right click the page and view the selected source. Its an embeded player within DIV tags.

Just insert the ID of the code in the browser bar of the youtube video, this also plays other files like wmv. You can use google video, and dailymotion.
Param values you can change and resize to fit. I found the DIV tags keep it clean. This embeded player keeps your visitor on your site and stops an instant divert to youtube!
