Few tips regarding blog soft ware and word press.

Hey guys, just looking for some help really. I'm currently using cute news on http://www.parrowdice.com and would like to change to an alternative. I was wondering is there a way I can replace that section with a word press blog (or any other good blog soft ware for that matter) but still keep the site the way it is? Like input a php code in the html the way cute news does it? Another question is what are www.iphonealley.com using to update their news? And how would one go around adding the digg/furl/newsvine etc links under a piece of news? I'm kinda new to this thing so all help appreciated .
