Images, now you see them, now you don't

I have done several installs with WordPress both with Fantastico and using the files from WordPress.org on two different hosts. I am using semiologic theme. Each time I install, I upload a header image and make other changes and everything shows great until about a day to two days later. Then my header image is gone both externally and internally as well as any images in the admin area, such as skins or other themes that I have downloaded. I have done this 5 times with two different hosts with the same result. Has anyone experienced this? Or am I just losing my mind? Thanks for any help.

That just doesn't sound right. You mean to say that everything you've uploaded disappears after a few days? You might want to check with your hosts about it :|
