How to upload Wordpress onto an addon domain

Hi
I am buying my hosting from Hostgator ( the package with unlimited subdomains but only one cpanel). I recently made my first addon domain successfully, got the dns pointing to their servers and was told that I would have to manually upload Wordpress to the subfolder (with my addon domain's name) in public html.
I have duly done this but it does not work. Hostgator have not been terribly helpful in how to resolve this and, despite trawling Wordpress' help pages have not found a clear answer.
I would be really grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction here....I am sure that there must be others in the forum who have a similar beginners hosting package.

Just for the record, the problem has now been solved. ...after a long session with Hostgator's live chat.
As usual, these things are very straightforward if you know what you're doing!
Oh well. Each day I learn more and more!
