Existing "New" Blog

I have just started a new site/blog using WordPress at http://PlanningDinners.com. I would like to use this system for the site. However, it looks like all of the templates recommended for the system are two-column templates. I need a third column because of the Recipes Area (in a separate directory) "Newest Recipes" content. Is it possible to use the current 3-column template with this system?
