| hi guys, i am not sure whether my question is in the correct category but i cant find a place, forgive me if i am wrong. I read the pdf and I came across the permalink part, it mentioned" Only post 1 category to each post for the type of permalink recommended?" I am using the exact same custom permalink, but for my post I put them in multiple categories, for example, a Ance article I would place in : Acne, Beauty, Health, Women, General. A maximum of 4 categories. I am curious whether this is bad? Or could somebody let me know why it should be best to post in just 1 category. Thanks Regards Steve ![]() |

Hi Steve, Permalink is the permanent link show to visitors about your permanent address on your posting. For example, I have a post about "How to start your online career even you are not tech savvy" (refer to my link below - It is also my permalink for the post) http://interneton9.com/2006/07/how-t...ot-tech-savvy/ However, category is the differentiation you want to classify the posting into different department. Like this posting above is classified into "internet marketing" & "internet marketing advise" categories. It doesn't matter what category you put in, it is just to help your readers to get your post easily, when they browse thru category. Conclusion, permalink and category is totally different usage here, don't worry about get bad result if you have multiple categories. Advise to categorise your post: set your main categories and classify it accordingly. While if you want your readers get your post and you yet dont have that category, use tagging method. You can have multiple tags which is related to your post. but didn't expand your categories into too much.

| The other question is, when using the UTW plugin, is it a must to signup as a member at technorati and claim our own blog, before our post will show up in Technorati? Or does it work even if we don't sign up and claim our blog? My last question is, can we have the tags hidden in the top/bottom of our posts, but have them still pinged to the tags in technorati? Thanks Regards Steve |

The current trend of using tagging and social bookmarking service to bring in more traffic to your website is the hot topic now. I dont see any reason why we dont want to sing up technorati or other social bookmarking like del.icio.us. However, in UTW setting, you can create the tag within your website, it is not necessary to display the outgoing tag link to technorati sites. Once you have claims your blog in technorati, you are able to update it automatically with UTW.

| Hi! I have installed and activated the UTW 3.0.1. that come with system. When I create a comma separated list of tags for my posts, the tags were link to my own blog instead of technorati when clicked. I have set up my Technorati account and claimed my blog. I have also performed the settings as illustrated on page 95 of the WordpressAdsenseSystem.com. Did I miss out any step? Would you please advice? Thank you.
