Do I need a links page?

Hi Everyone,
I was wondering when you exchange links
with other people do you need to create a
page just for their links and for the blogroll?

I don't realy understand what blogroll is.

Hi Sandra,

"Blogroll" is just a term invented by some people with a lot of free time. It just means "links to another blog"

You can do this easily, as the default category of links is already created as "Blogroll". Log in to your Wordpress, and go to Links > Add Links and you'll be able to do this.

Hi Sandra,

Yeah as Gobala said, Blogroll is just a fancy word for links to a blog.
Creating a links page may be a good idea when your submitting your blog to directories, i'm sure you wouldn't want all of those reciprocal links on your sidebar, so creating a page for that is a good idea.

Hi Imo,
No you don't need a links page your links on the
side bar are fine, just one thing I see you have many links
but only one is related to your blog.

If you only put links that are related like other helth sites you
will stand more of a chance of a higher page rank,

Also you need to make sure the places you link to link back to you.

Other wise your site is very good and interesting.

Another way of links exchange is to insert a trackback URL in your post to another blog post which is related to the topic in the post that you are writing. By inserting a trackback URL in your post, your post will appear in the other blog post as a comment. But of course the owner of that blog has to approve your comment before your link will appear as a comment. This is a much better way of links exchange and you wont see a long list of links in your blogroll. Too many outgoing links in your blogroll is not doing any good for your blog as they encourage visitors to click and leave your blog. If you have links in your blogroll, do ensure that the links are related to your blog so that even visitors leave your blog, they appreciate your link and may want to come back to your blog again. Another way is just to leave a comment on another blog. This will give you the incoming link to your blog which is good for PR.
