Hello, I've recently created a blog on the subject of outrage. I post videos, pictures, stories, etc of people who are outraged for one reason or another. It's meant to be a place where people can get a laugh and feel better that their lives are not that bad. http://www.outraged.ca/ I'm currently used this site as a way to understand and learn about what it takes to generate traffic to a website. I also could see the site becoming more and more of a community were people can submit things that make them outraged. And I'd hope that it would accomplish this on wide scale. I.e. some stories would be hilarious and some would be more philospical and serious. I've been curious about Adsense and online marketing and wondered what it would take to produce a website with quality content that could make a bit of cash. I plan to create a more serious business website in the future so I'd like to learn as much as I can beforehand. Anyways, that's the introduction for what its worth. One thing that I'd like to understand better is how to get better targetted ads. You'll see if you visit my site the ads from google are all over the place and I can't see any of my visitors wanting to click on them. I'd like the ad's directed more towards funny vid/picture sites. King_Aero

All hail the King That's a nice blog you have, but as with most video blogs, there's not enough text for Adsense bots to spider and determine which ads to display. Plus, your site is also too general, so as far as getting targetted ads on the main page i think it's hoping for too much. On the individual pages though, you can try to make your ads targetted. My suggestions: 1) Put adsense codes right in the middle of your post, preferable under the video or right after the title. 2) Go here and enter the url of the specific page to see what ads probably show up on your site: http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/adsense-sandbox/ 3) Try editing one page and testing it over and over again to see if the Sandbox results change. Add more related keywords in the title and body text. Try these and see over a period of time the changes that happen. When yuo see what works, do the same for all other past / future posts.. -gk-

Hey Gobala, Thanks for the advice. I will try this out and see what I learn from it. Right now, there is a lot of videos but I'd like to make it more diverse. I.e. more stories, discussions. The adsense on the front page is essentially useless based on the ads that get placed on there. If I remove those and put ads deeper into the website (i.e. Posts) then I will need a strategy for driving visitors deeper. Even when you get that stuff right, you need to generate the traffic and sustain it with decent content. King_Aero PS. My usual nickname is Aero, but since everywhere I go it's usually taken. For some stupid reason a prepended King to it. Now I just use that because it's mostly likely not used anywhere and I don't have a baazillion usernames floating around to remember.

Another thing that I found interesting and a way for generating traffic is to embedded Metacafe videos. The reason for this is that they will list your website if your in the first five people to embed the video on your site. This has generated a bit of traffic for me.
