I don't understand about the feeds as I have seen on lots of blogs that people have a lot of small icons and I think this is for feeds.

I am not sure there is an error on re-directing from the WP, the actual rss
feed url is this, but normal circumstances, if you use /feed/ didn't display the feed well, you can try to use /?feed=rss2/ format.
