Default Internal Server Error After Changing Permalink?

Hi All,

After changing the default permalinks to custom ones

/%post_id%/%postname%/

I got Internal Server Error when trying to click some of my posts. If I revert the permalinks to the defaults ones provided by Wordpress, there is no such problem. Btw, I am using the adsense ready template and would appreciate if someone can enlighten if I did anything wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Hi Ellesse,

I can do a check for you, but before that, have you:

1) Set the correct CHMOD for your .htaccess files?
2) Did you install on the domain inself, a subfolder or subdomain?
3) Can you check the code you've entered, if there are any spaces or missing any characters?

Hi Kamarul,

What GK advised me to do is to create an empty text file and rename it as .htaccess and upload to my site.

Then, I reactivated the permalink structure and waited for about 2-5 minutes for the system to refresh.

Try it and see if it works. Otherwise, you might want to raise a problem ticket.

Cheers,

Did you delete the old file before upload the new one?? Sometimes the over-writing process doesnt work well..
