Hi,

You're right, I do prefer the design stage more and more as I get more ideas and learn new things that I can do with a site.

I've just looked at the site again - straight away it hit me what you meant about the colours and being too much, too many.! When I get a bit of time, I'll have another tinker and try and tone it down a bit.

IT was my passion when I started but then I tried to do to much with it. I'll let it role but I'm not sure how much or what direction I will take it in in the future. I think it needs a complete face lift now when I get a chance.

I agree there are too many ads - the problem with XSP and it's not a big problem, you just need to decide what you want from your site and plan it properly, is that the left and right panels flow throughout the site for each and every page. I have found ways around it by playing around with the code a little and omitting the right panel on one of my other sites but on a really big site - it's a REALLY BIG job!

I learn - and move on but I do plan on focussing more on WordPress for the time being, although I have a couple of projects that I am slowly working on which will involve XSP and using it to the max but these will take quite a few months

Thanks for the tips and advice though but for now my main focus is going to be on WP.

Default Domain Name and more.

I am Stan Cook of Belfair, WA. A 22 year military vet retired and retired from the Honolulu Police Department. I have been doing websites for about 12 years but new to blogging.
I sent a question (2) to support but was advised to use the forum which I am doing. Here was the original quesiton(s):
This is two part question. I use Go Daddy hosting. So I have a blog at:
http://websitesbycook.com/ezinepublishing.
I set up a domain name of Ezine Publishing and writing Information.
Question One. Since my domain name is a redirect to my Go Daddy acount, does that make a difference?
Quesiton Two. Is it better to have a domian name like www.xxx-yyy.com or Coming Soon...? Or does it matter.

That was it. Since then, using adsense system I have logged in and joined Technorati. When I tried to list a blog using the domain name I got a error message stating they can't confirm blog in frames, which it is not. When I used the "real" URL they took it. So, question one remains germain.
Thanks for the great work you do. We would all be lost without you.

Hi Hawaiicop,

Welcome to the forum. I don't know how to answer your questions but I would suggest that rather than posting this on my thread here, you would have been better to create a new thread/post with your own title. This will get the right people to look at your posts and they may be able to help better, rather than those who just wanted to see what I was going on about.

Regards

Default Thanks for the info

Hi there,
Thanks for the answer. I figured it went to the wrong place but it was too late and as a "junior" member I only get one post a day.

I don't think there is a limit to post once a day for junior members. Try posting at least 2 - 3 minutes later. If the problem still persist, pls let me know and I will go and find out.

Thanks
