2nd domain process/instruction

Hey guys!
i'm going to do my 2nd blog, for your info i've already register my 2nd domain under hostgator.com. They already registerred my 2nd domain and tells me that my DNS set to point my private name server.
I'm lost here, what should I do next???Or just wait?? I already try to add-domain using my cpanel on my 1stdomain.com/cpanel, but cannot proceed. Should I wait?or have i going the doing process???
2nd question is, do i have to install wordpress again for the 2nd domain???

Please guide me!!

Hi Azni,

keep calm and tell me...one by one.

ok first of all you mentioned that you have registered your 2nd domain and hostgator hav point to your DNS?

mayb the domain have alredi being added..so that is why you can't add it again. try give me the link here. newly bought domain sometimes need to propogate before you can use, this normally can took up to 2 days....but normally it is instant...so yours might b different.

normal way to add a domain is to make sure the domain is set to redirect to your hosting DNS, this is enable thru ur domain cpanel. after that you just go to your 1stdomain/cpanel and click thru add on domain.....fill up the domain name and set a username and password for it. a new folder will be create automatically in ur public_html folder.

let say your new domain name is azni.com, a folder named azni will be created. so to setup your blog you just need to upload the files to that particular folder.

hope this helps...i suggest try getting the live helpdesk to help you. they have being supportive in getting my problem done..last time...so yours should be solve too...but just be sure to follow their suggestion correctly...

Hi Azni,

Hope KCNAIR have answer your question, but as you mention that hostgator have register you domain mean you bought it and is in your hostgator account. However you still need to specific the Domain Name Server from the hostgator to point to the web server which is also hostgator?, I guess they will have pointed it to the correct server, just check it up is it poiting to the server that you are hosting.

As mention by KCNAIR that new domain need 48 hours to propagate, as you might not seen it immediately with malaysia ip address, however you can check it up using vtunnel.com, as hostgator is from US and vtunnel is a proxy from US too.

As you have say that your 2nd domain will be use for your 2nd blog, for new addon domain added, a new folder in the web server will be created, you WILL need to install wordpress again.
