Permanent Link Ain't Working

Hi,

My name is Juzaily and I'm new here. From Malaysia. A newbie in WordPress. I have a problem with my WP blog and hopefully you guys can help me out with this.

Why is it that when I click on the title of my posts, they are not directed to its own page? Instead, I got this:

Not Found

The requested URL /2006/11/11/pet-care-how-to-care-for-your-pet/ was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Hi Juzaily,

I think you need to set your .htaccess file permissions to 766, and regenerate your permalinks again. Then it should work.

Hi Gobala,

It must be it as I can't seem to find .htaccess file anywhere. Where should it be located? wanna-know-now/.htaccess or what? Sorry I'm very new at this.

If it's not anywhere, where can I get that file? I hope you know what I mean.

Hi Gobala,

It's just that I cannot find the file anywhere. I don't even know why it is missing. Do you have the file or something so that I can upload the file back to my host and the change the properties from there.

Sorry about this, I'm sure you have tons of other stuff to do but I just can't find the file anywhere.

Hi Juzaily,

By default, some servers will hide files with names starting with a period such as ".htaccess" or ".profile".

What FTP software you use to upload to server? I am not sure about others application. If you were using CuteFTP. Try this.

To see hidden files on a remote site

1. Select the Site Manager tab.
2. Select the site with the hidden files.
3. Choose File > Properties from the menu.
4. Select the Actions tab.
5. Select Filter.
6. Select Enable filtering.
7. Select Enable server side filtering.
8. Enter -a in the Remote field.
9. Select OK.
10. Connect to your site.
