Video That Helps Install WP Locally

I wrote a post last year on how to install WordPress locally on your hard drive. The benefit of this is that you can tamper with your theme and plugins until you are happy to go live. It is a huge benefit to your readers, since they won’t be distracted by changing presentations.

To help those who are still somewhat confused about this issue, it might be beneficial to check out the video below. It walks you through the steps necessary to install WordPress on your local hard drive.

Hope you’ll like it.

Nice, thank you. I need all the help I can get. I have a question, how do you make a button or photo clickable as a link to E-mail? I know how to make them regular links but can’t find how to make them go to my E-mail address.
Thank you

Hi Vicky,

I just sent you an email with the code, since it wouldn’t show here I believe. Just be aware that doing this will make you vulnerable to spam bots as they can collect your email address while crawling your site.

One way to get around this is to use an email obscurer software. You can find them by doing a search on Google.

QueenEve,

It could be windows firewall blocking the program so you can’t access it. Also, if you have double firewall protection it could also block the xamplite.

I’ve recently switched to a new computer and have problems myself right now. I gave the program permission, but it says that another mysql program is already running on my machine. Beats me and I wish I knew what was the issue.
