Spread The Love With The KeywordLuv Plugin
The KeywordLuv Plugin is the answer to all the irritation that has spread amongst blog owners worldwide as it puts an end to supposed spamming comments once and for all. Or so it seems. It is still up to the blog owner to check their comments and whether some spammer has sneaked his way into the door.
After all, we all encourage thoughtful and useful comments that contribute to the conversation don’t we? All too often I still see one liners and or stupid attempts to push somebody’s wares through a comment and I normally simply delete these.
Even if it is from a reputable blogger.
What this KeywordLuv Plugin does is it allows blog commenter’s to insert their name in front of the keyword they’d like to use to hyperlink back to their sites.
It is obvious however that this will only be beneficial for bloggers who use a dofollow principle on their blogs. If you don’t, then you won’t need to worry about this Plugin. Unless of course you want people to put their name into the comment field regardless.
So instead of having Gobala@EasyWordPress.com leaving a comment, it will now look like this Gobala from Easy WordPress
As you can see, this looks way nicer and proper to the eye. It would also encourage readers to actually use their names when commenting on other blogs if they use this KeywordLuv Plugin.
Personally I hate nothing more than bloggers who comment with Fats Credit Cards. How the heck am I supposed to address this person in a return comment?
You tell me.
The KeywordLuv Plugin works on WordPress 2.2+ (tested on WordPress 2.5, 2.3 and 2.2)

At first I thought this was the plug in that shows your latest post feed after you comment. Well, this one is pretty neat too.
Somehow I did not feel this plugin of much use, my 2 cents.
@ Kay: it is neat if your blog uses the dofollow attributes. I guess it allows others to link back with their chosen keyword which helps them further with link juice.
@ LiC: fair enough, opinion noted.

Won’t this encourage more spam? I still use do follow - if I install this I’m encouraging people to leave a comment to get a link back to their site. The person concerned will still have nothing valuable to say!
I agree that (1) this makes more sense as far as how to address people when there is a dialog in the comments section; and (2) this just seems to make more sense in that a person’s name usually doesn’t have any bearing on their link, so using the name as anchor text doesn’t make sense. Thanks for this post!
if ur blogging about how peeps should use the keyword luv plugin, how come u arent using it? o_O
@ Utah Catering: You might have noticed that I wrote the post and the this blog is owned by Gobala. He is entitled to make his own decisions on what he wants to use on this blog.
I simply blog about tools that might or might not interest readers like you. It doesn’t mean we have to use everything we blog about, does it now?
installing luv comment and keywordluv is the two greatest things i’ve done to my blog. It helped increase traffic my blog and traffic increased 3folds! Amazing isn it. I’m sure you’ll be a great success!
Thanks for the useful post, and debate in the comments. There are pros and cons to KeywordLuv and CommentLuv. For me, CommentLuv has a slight advantage as it provides a deep-link to a blog post, as well as a general link to the homepage. Assuming you have keywords in your post-titles, you get the best of both.
