There are softwares and programs that can help you to track your advertising campaigns, internet traffic and your sales. These trackers come in many forms such as Hit trackers, Link trackers, Conversion trackers and many more.
Hit tracker, also commonly known as Hit counters, help to track your website hits and the visitors that land on your webpage. Usually these counters are sophisticated enough to yield detailed statistics of the traffic trends that can span daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly. The detailed statistics can also break down the analysis to inform you of the visitors’ visiting behavior. These can also include the visitors’ operating system, browser type and even IP-address.

Link trackers which are also known as Adtracker work differently. These are counters that count the hits that enter your website through a specific link from another source site. With many link trackers set by you to work, you’ll have a good count on where the bulk of your advertising traffic is coming from.

Finally, conversion or sales trackers, on the other hand, helps keep track of the sources of your sales or successful targeted actions. Due to this limitation, usually only webmasters can use such sales trackers. Affiliates have no back access to these sales or receipt pages would not be able to apply this tool.
