    In the previous post, I talked about choosing selling affiliate products from your blog as the main income model. If that’s the model you choose, then you may want to focus on building an email optin list rather than RSS subscribers. Of course you can do both, but common marketing wisdom dictates that you should focus on one.

    If you’re going to build a mailing list, then you should consider getting these really cool Web 2.0-ish squeeze page designs made by Kidino. According to Kidino, these same designs have helped his get a 30% opt-in rate from new traffic.

    These designs are extremely customizable to match the overall theme of your blog. You can design an optin form to put on your sidebar, or you can create a separate static HTML page to act as a name squeeze page. You can also use it with the Lightpop Wordpress plugin to display the squeeze when you visitors leave your blog.

    A good way to do is is also to get targeted traffic from Google Adwords. By targeting specific keywords and driving the traffic to an opt-in page, you can build subscribers fast. You can then automate your blog broadcast using Aweber’s blog broadcast features.
