WordPress Global Translator Plugin

in Wordpress Plugins

I often wished that I could translate my own blog to a wider audience. I find that it would help to reach farther than just in the English speaking countries and all though we can translate our blog through Google or Babel fish, we have to play around with code and it becomes more of an annoyance.

But help is here now to do exactly this without the code mess in the form of the WordPress Global Translator Plugin.

If your blog is written in English, then this Plugin will translate your blog into 13 additional languages. What is really great about this is that the Plugin is:

  • optimized for search engines by adding the language code at the beginning of all the URL’s
  • has a built in fast cache system that minimizes connection to the translation engines
  • the layout is fully configurable
  • uses translation of both Google or Babel Fish

The following languages are supported by the WordPress Global Translator Plugin:

  1. English
  2. French
  3. Italian
  4. German
  5. Portuguese
  6. Spanish
  7. Japanese
  8. Korean
  9. Chinese
  10. Arabic
  11. Russian
  12. Greek
  13. Dutch.
    Download the Plugin
After you uploaded the Plugin there isn’t much to do but add some code into your sidebar.php ort header.php file. You can see the instructions here.
I will definitely install this Plugin on my own blog which hopefully helps some readers to understand better.

Thanks for the info, and the tool is just great. I honestly love it and have installed it on my blog.

Do wish it had translations for the dutch language.

Is there anyway, you can get this option added?

Or do you know the coder of this script?

Would like to know, thanks for the great tip.

Hmmm… I would have thought that Dutch language is included in most translation tools, guess I was wrong. Anyways you can contact the developer here, probably work on a donation basis to add your requirements: http://www.nothing2hide.net/wp-plugins/wordpress-global-translator-plugin/
