In my quest to find out dazzling themes for professional blogs, I happened to trace a cool, magazine style wordpress theme – Rebel Magazine. The theme has been designed by Filipina and Netrepreneur Chiq Montes of WPThemeDesigner.com.

Before I move to give my personal opinion about this theme, lets eye on its basic features:

  • It’s 2-column-theme.
  • It has Right sidebar.
  • CSS compliant.
  • Widget-ready.
  • Compatible with Firefox, IE 7 & Opera.

Rebel Magazine theme offers a neat and appealing design to the blog. The dark header with a light body gives a perfect contrast to the theme. For the adsense lovers this theme has 125×125 banner ad integration which makes it easy for bloggers who run banner ads on their blog. All you have to do is edit the name of the banner, then edit the link or URL it’s pointing to and you’re all done! Fast and easier than said.

For all those widget fans like me, the theme is widget-ready. The Rebel Magazine theme doesn’t need and prerequisite plugins, so you can use it right out of the box. Customizing this theme is also a child’s play. You can easily alter the look, layout and style of the theme to your taste and requirement.

Check out a live preview of this theme here. You may also download and use it for free!

Installation:

  • Download and unzip the Rebel.zip folder.
  • Upload the theme into your “/wp-content/themes/” folder.
  • Login into your WordPress admin.
  • Go to the Presentation tab.
  • Select the Rebel theme screenshot.
  • Now customize to your liking.

Overall, the Rebel Magazine theme offers a free, good quality magazine style theme that is extensively useful, fully functional and highly customizable. Highly recommendable!
